Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some of the questions we've been getting pretty often, so we just decided to answer them all in one go!

General

What is the pet and animal policy for the convention?

Pets are not allowed on site at the convention at any time. Emotional Support animals may be permitted on a case-by-case basis with proper documentation. If you will require a service animal to be with you onsite for any part of the convention, please email the animal's documentation to convention@quelmar.world.

What is the Covid policy?

All individuals are required to be fully vaccinated (2 doses and a booster of Pfizer or Moderna or one dose and a booster of Johnson & Johnson). The proof of vaccination must be presented at check in before being allowed entry. Your vaccine card or an image of your vaccine card are both acceptable.  If you end up testing positive for covid prior to the event, you may request a full refund for both your badge and bed if purchased.

Am I required to wear a mask during the convention?

No, masks will not be required during the convention. However, if you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, we encourage you to do so. If you choose to wear a mask, you will still be able to participate in any and all event programming.

Why should I get the Thursday to Monday Badge instead of the Friday to Sunday?

If you get the Thursday to Monday Badge, you'll have the opportunity to participate in an exciting Spy LARP game designed and run by some of our own Quelmarian professional designers! You'll also get a wonderful breakfast on Monday morning before our team has to pack up and leave the site.

What's the deal with food?

On one day during the convention (that is still to be determined) we are getting a ton of pizzas for all participants! This is included in the price of your badge. Additionally, we'll have some basic snacks available, and in the mornings, we'll have coffee and simple breakfast options. If you have strict dietary restrictions or allergies, it is recommended that you bring your own food.

I want to bring my own food. Where do I put it?

It is encouraged for participants to bring their own food, especially if you have dietary restrictions or allergies. There are multiple refrigerators on site and there will be designated space for individuals with restrictions to keep their food away from other foods.

On Site Housing and Sleeping

Exactly how far is the Spring House from the rest of the convention buildings?

It is about 2 miles from the rest of the convention buildings.  It is about 5-10 minutes driving. While it is possible to walk back and forth from the Spring House to the other convention buildings it is highly suggested that all convention participants drive.

How far are the Fox and Chestnut houses?

Really close! They are in the same location as the main convention buildings and are both about a 5-minute walk.

I want to sleep in the same space as my friend but not in the same bed.

Please let us know in the comments section of ticket registration! We will try our best to accommodate your request, but due to limitations in space we may not be able to accommodate everyone. If we can't accommodate your request, we'll reach out to figure out the next best option.

Do I get the bed for the whole weekend?

Yes! When you purchase on-site sleeping, you have access to the bed for the entire convention, Thursday to Monday, no matter what days you badge is for.

I bought a bed but not a badge. Can I still participate in convention programming?

Purchasing the sleeping space does not grant access to any convention programming. In order to participate in convention programming such as the Spy LARP, TTRPGs, and board games, you must purchase a badge.
